Performance Venue: Atlas Theatre, Tisch Dance NYU, New York CityConcept, Choreography and Direction: Patricia Noworol Music: Underworld "Rez Original Text: Anonymous recordings in Chelsea Area Music edited by Matt Oaks and Patricia NoworolVideo: Camille de Galbert Performer: Matt OaksLighting Design: Greg GoffCostume Design: Malgosia TurzanskaFinal performance video cut: Patricia NoworolMal Abrite, begins with vibrant yellow text typed along the black wall. The unknown author is not characteristically defined as male or female through the trivial conversation. Recorded spoken text, in a loud public place, commemorates moments in the life of the now visible solo performer. Although the dialog renders nonchalant airs, the performer intimately touches his bare chest. Trance music invades the space and vibrates the body. The trivial conversation questioning casual experiences ironically deliver a somber discovery of identity. This strong image of a man in a beautiful long skirt is accompanied by the slow carving of space with his arms. His leaps are bursts of movement that are very pleasing to the eye as the skirt sweeps in arcs. The performer breaks his trance walking to an upstage corner as the music fades. He exposes himself physically while sweetly singing lyrics that expose him emotionally. The audience witnesses his depth of hurt. Returning to the trance, he revolutionizes his self with larger.Mal abrite was presented in New York City at the Delirium Performances by PNDCo. and the Hatch Presenting Series. | Kurt Warner on Heaven, Hell & GodTue, 06 Jan 2009 18:44:43 -0800 by GodintheBoxFilmAll Pro Quarterback Kurt Warner, who founded the First Things First Foundation (kurtwarner.org), talks about the fears he has about those closest to him -- both on and off the field-- who haven't taken the same leap of faith he has done. Warner has always been very outspoken about his faith-- even, in his greatest football moments, telling ABC Sports upon winning Super Bowl MVP, "First things first..." and thanking God before a live world wide tv audience. Warner is just one of many theologians, scholars, and religious leaders interviewed for this documentary. | I Wonder Who's Kissing Her Now - John Dennis Dickey (Guitar and Vocal)Tue, 06 Jan 2009 18:00:21 -0800 by BlinkymytInspired by the 1947 musical "I Wonder Who's Kissing Her Now", I attempted to record the same arrangement that Mark Stevens (overdubbed by Buddy Clark) and June Haver performed in the movie. This being the biography of songwriter Joe Howard (as played by Mr. Stevens), his song "Honeymoon" was also appropriately interspersed in the title ballad while singing onstage to the audience, during which June was encouraged to join in from several rows back. I thought that was kind of neat, and I never forgot that segment. If anybody knows where a copy of this movie is available, I'd love to buy it. Great turn-of-the-century music carries the picture, much like the ambience of "Hello, Frisco, Hello." Related: soundtrack pop romantic classic june haver mark stevens joe howard | |

| Syndicate Content? What is Syndicating Content & Why Should You Be Doing ItTue, 06 Jan 2009 17:49:46 -0800 by innercirclemastershttp://www.MindsetAn dAttractionMarketing .comIf an internet marketer produces some killer content in the forest and no one ever sees it, does he make any money? The answer is no. You need to syndicate your content.Content Syndication. First off, what the heck does syndicating content mean?In the context of internet marketing, an example of content is an article or video or blog post you make. Syndication - means to publish or broadcast material (content) simultaneously in a number of channels. Traditionally this would be TV, RADIO, NEWSPAPERS - think ABC for TV and the associated press for newspapers. But for online marketing purposes, we're talking about video sites, social media sites, social bookmarking sites etc.If an internet marketer produces some killer content in the forest and no one ever sees it, does he make any money? The answer is no. You need to syndicate your content. So when you make, say, a video and want to syndicate it - you first upload it to youtube, then blast it out to other video sites using tubemogul or trafficgeyser. Then you can post it to your blog and then ping your blog to sites like Digg and Propeller. Also twitter it and post a notice or bulletin on facebook and myspace. What this does is announce to the world wide web your content from a multitude of high ranking sites, thus increasing your chances of having people see it, because it doesn't matter how good your content is for marketing purposes if no one ever sees it.Very Important that you don't syndicate crap because it will hurt you. For example, posting blatant 'rah rah' marketing and promotion of your program turns people off. People are so done with that stuff.3 things your content should be, or combination thereof:People want to go to internet to be:1. Educated2. Enlightened or Uplifted3. Entertained Your content should be educational, enlightening, entertaining, or a combination thereof. No one wants to be pitched to, they just want your help.So post quality content - it's judged by your audience - any promotion in it, then it's going to tank. Make great videos, cover what's hot right now. Do social research and find your target audience and find their pain/problems/issues and then address them by providing solutions in the form of information or training they need.Remember, the World Is Watching.... but not for long if you syndicate garbage. | Just Friends {Episode 9} Part 1Tue, 06 Jan 2009 17:48:05 -0800 by Alexagjbfan1214As much as I wanted to stay home and sulk, I knew I had to go to the concert to support my best friends, even if one of them had broken my heart. As the girls around me went wild, I remained motionless and my eyes stared straight ahead. Nick was dancing around and jamming on his guitar as usual, but something seemed...off. He kept looking over to where I stood in the front row and then immediately turned his gaze somewhere else. I can't believe that less than a week ago, I couldn't wait to spend a week in California with him, and now I couldn't wait to leave. What is wrong with me? My head was spinning in all directions and these voices inside of me kept shouting things at me. "Stay mad at him!" "Forget about him!" "Just make up with him and live happily ever after already!" Stuff like that. I didn't know which path to take, so I continued to remain frozen in my thoughts, with little to no actions. At least, not the RIGHT actions.I couldn't help but laugh when Joe started dancing around like a chicken. I rolled my eyes at him when he gave me a goofy look from the catwalk. That's when I realized something. I might not see them again for months...and I was acting like THIS? Is it Joe or Kevin's fault that Nick hurt me? Absolutely not! My mind wandered back to all those times Kevin tried to comfort me, being the kind, caring guy that he is and the few times Joe noticed I was down and tried to cheer me up with a few funny faces and jokes. I'm such a horrible person. I wouldn't be surprised if after this, none of them even talk to me ever again. I felt Nick's gaze on me, but I ignored him as tears blurred my vision. Luckily, I was at a Jonas Brothers concert, meaning pretty much everyone else was crying too and I blended in perfectly. In the middle of BB Good, I realized that I'm wasting my time moping over Nick. He obviously doesn't like me in that special way, so I need to get over it. My Prince Charming is out there somewhere, right? Right. I wiped the tears away and struck up a conversation with a girl standing next to me. She had on a JB concert t-shirt, jeans and Converse. Her cheeks were stained with mascara and in the middle of our conversation, she started blubbering when Joe reached out and grabbed her hand from the catwalk. I laughed as Joe continued down the catwalk, sliding on the foam that had just been sprayed. I managed to keep the tears away for the rest of the concert...until Nick sat down at the piano and began to play a song that I knew far too well...When You Look Me in the Eyes. During his parts, his voice was shaking and I could see him closing his eyes every so often. Tears started welling up in my eyes. He looked so miserable..although, it kind of helped knowing someone else was feeling the same kind of pain I was. Joe and Kevin kept looking at him because they KNEW something was up. Since they couldn't do anything to help him at the moment, they just continued to do their part and smile at the crowd. At one point during the song, Nick looked up from the piano and a tear slid down his cheek when he looked out at the audience in my direction as he sang, "Gonna tell you that I love you in the best way that I can." He could barely sing the words to the song as he bowed his head and everyone around me was going, "OMG! He's crying!" Tears spilled down my cheeks faster and faster and suddenly I felt nauseous as the screaming seemed to go right through to me. I realized I couldn't stand it any longer. I had to get out of there. I pushed through the crowd and ran out of the venue, my ears ringing. I could feel my head pounding as my feet hit the pavement of the deserted parking lot. Spotting an empty curb, I sat down and started letting out all of these tears that I tried to keep hidden, but had no success. My cries could probably be heard for miles, but I didn't care at the moment. One thought that couldn't seem to get away from my mind was..could Nick feel my pain? If so, did he care?Ran out of room. Part 2 will be up soon. (: Enjoy! Related: brothers episode friends joe jonas just kevin love nick onetruemedia part story | |

| 8-8 LSD - The Beyond Within - BBC hofmann's potionTue, 06 Jan 2009 17:34:31 -0800 by kreftslaggLSD was used in the '50s in number of guises, and it's startling to think of it being routinely prescribed in mental hospitals in the U.K. Although the tests were carried out in safe conditions, and the subjects were aware that they were being dosed with LSD in order to perhaps stimulate the unconscious mind, and aid them to relate blocked memories which may help their recovery, it is unsettling to note the scale on which the drug was used. Thousands of English mental patients were given the drug.More alarming though, are the methods employed by the CIA to test LSD in the 1950's. Rather than testing on volunteers, the CIA tests were on unwitting subjects, which Hoffman warns of as the most dangerous way to administer the drug. Archive footage shows the effects of LSD on a military unit, as they attempt to march in formation after unwittingly ingesting a dose of LSD. As the 60's rolled in, the LSD's popularity grew as a recreational drug, and its users identified with the spiritual side of the experience, as a means of getting close to nature, seeing things differently, or as Ken Kesey puts in, 'jarring the mind' into a new way of thinking. Intellectuals and artists such as Aldous Huxley - author of 'Brave New World' - used drugs such as LSD and Mescalin as a source of inspiration, and Huxley even made public his desire for the drug to be consumed on a wider scale. The growth of the 'psychedelic' movement promoted the use of LSD, and it's use continued to spread, among groups such as Timothy Leary's Millbrook movement on the East Coast (Turn on, tune in, drop out - Ed), and Ken Kesey's fun-loving West Coast band of psychedelic misfits.Huxley's critics disputed the spiritual merit of the drug, pointing to the fact that true spiritual enlightenment cannot be attained 'on the cheap'. However, media and public interest in LSD reached a point in the early 60's that a politician by the name of Christopher Mayhew agreed to undergo an experiment, and for this experiment to be filmed by the BBC. This fascinating experiment involved his taking a dose of Mescalin in the company of a physician, and answerin certain basic brainteasers over the course of his little trip. The footage of his experience is extraordinary, as this eloquent upper-class Mr. Cholmondley-Warner-s tyle aristocrat describes what he is experiencing under the influence of the drug, his eyes wide as saucers. Indeed, the footage proved too controversial for the BBC at the time, and was not shown until this Everyman documentary broadcast it in the 1980's. Interestingly, Mayhew, who in 1986 was a member of the House of Lords, watches the footage, 30 years later, and stands by his description of the experience. "I had an experience in time" he says, and his conviction is apparent. The mystical side of LSD experiences is referred to constantly in the second half of the documentary. The experiment involving student priests in the U.S. is fascinating, and I will simply say you have to see it to believe it. In 1968, Lyndon Johnson (LBJ) maded LSD illegal in the U.S., after a wave of negative media attention on the drug. Other countries around the world soon followed, and the psychedelic era didn't last very long once the element of criminality was attached.Critics of the apparently mystical experiences of LSD point out that although these people thought they were on a journey, discovering new methods of thought, they were actually just dropouts. Hoffman himself has some of the last words in the documentary, claiming that, while he didn't believe his LSD experiences to be spiritual, he did believe that they represented 'another dimension to reality'. In addition, the 'bad trip' side of LSD is also explored, and users of the drug relate negative experiences suffered while under the influence. These experiences are relayed with such intensity, despite the fact that they are describing pretty mundane events, such as getting a verbal dressing down from a stranger while under the influence, that the effect of such a 'bad trip' will not be under-estimated by the audience. This is a truly excellent documentary, and I would encourage you to have a look at the link below. It's free, and let's face it, it's better than 'Celebrities Doing Stuff' or whatever pap's on TV this evening. The verdict: they don't make em like this any more. Chilling, enlightening and thoroughly entertaining. The rating: 9/10 Related: muslim terror al quaida nwo new britney world order bilderberg group skull and bones nazi bin laden spears domination sayed kotb teen bush president bill clinton jihad afganistan algeria reagan fundamentalists wwe revolution webcam henry kissinger sovjet nixon cold war donald rumsveld cia ayman zawahiri sadam husein sadat ayatollah khomeini | |
