Modest Wedding Gowns

In recent years, wedding gowns have become increasingly sexy. Rather than wanting to look like the pure, virginal bride, women want to flaunt their assets with dresses that show their best features. Low cut necks, very tight skirts, or even dresses with cut outs are becoming more and more popular. What is the sweet virginal bride to do?

Finding modest wedding gowns is not impossible. Finding the perfect modest dress just may take more time. The most popular wedding gown seems to be the strapless gown. These gowns call attention to cleavage and are often uncomfortable due to the bride constantly pulling up the top of the dress. Before a bride visits a bridal shop, she might save time and call ahead to see if the shop has a collection that will fit her modest clothes sense. Sometimes, if a shop doesn't have the kind of dress desired by the bride, the shop owner might offer special order from a catalog or give her advice about where to go for the perfect dress.

When a bride who is seeking a modest wedding gown finds the right shop, she should let the shop owner know exactly what she is looking for. Then the shop owner can pull those gowns that she thinks will most likely please the bride. After trying on several gowns, the bride should have a good idea of what she likes and doesn't like. Depending on the season, the bride might want to have a dress with long sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. This bridal top goes well with a bell skirt or a lowered waist with a poufy skirt.

Every bride says that as soon as put on the "perfect dress", she knew it was the one. Even the bride who has to work hard to find exactly what she wants will know when she has found the perfect modest dress. If she still isn't sure, she may need some second opinions. If the bride is getting married in a very traditional church, she might even ask advice from the minister's wife. An invitation to see the dress before it is purchased is a great idea.

Even though the times seem to favor the sexy wedding dress, there are still many young brides who want to reflect their religious beliefs and their innocent state by wearing a beautiful modest wedding gown. Good for her.
