Trends in Maternity Bridal Gowns

Selecting the perfect wedding dress is important for every bride. Moms-to-be who are also brides-to-be have an additional challenge in this area because their size is rapidly and constantly changing. If you're pregnant, the size you are when shopping for your gown may not be the size you will be on your wedding day, especially if it is months ahead. You will need to plan ahead and estimate the size wedding dress you will need to get.
The nice thing about maternity bridal gowns is that they are designed to stretch and accommodate baby bumps of various sizes. You definitely want something with plenty of stretch to it, for your own comfort. There are all kinds of dresses available these days that look great on pregnant brides. Expectant mothers are no longer content to settle for unattractive clothing -- they now have plenty of fashionable choices. The cut of the gown is an important factor. You may find that the traditional A-line gown with fitted bodice and full skirt just isn't going to work.
Many moms-to-be look absolutely beautiful in an empire waist style dress. The empire waist is cut just under the bust and falls in a straight line from there. This is a timeless and romantic look, and invokes the feeling of a medieval princess. The sheath is another great choice. Try a stretchy sheath with a lace overlay for a romantic and stylish look. You should be aware that this style will accentuate your belly so make sure you're confident with it. If not, the empire waist may be better for you. There are other styles you may prefer as well, so try on various ones to figure out which is the most flattering.
Now another important question arises -- can a pregnant bride wear white? Of course! These days, the rules have changed and brides are wearing whatever color they want. The most important thing is that you are comfortable in your bridal gown and feel good about it. Maternity bridal gowns range in style from traditional to casual, so you won't have any trouble finding a good selection of choices. Another very important aspect to your ensemble to consider is your shoes. Shoes should be low or flat heeled, and they should be very comfortable. Don't worry too much about how stylish your shoes are, as all the focus will be on your beautiful dress and your radiant glow!
