David’s Bridal Gowns
![]() |
Is there anybody who hasn't heard of David's Bridal Gowns? These bridal shops can be found in any city large enough to have a bridal shop. They have wedding dresses, bridesmaids' gowns, and dresses for the little ones in the wedding party. The stores are huge and have every imaginable wedding dress. Best of all the prices won't send your budget into the stratosphere.
Before you go to David's Bridal Gowns, be sure you do your homework. Buy some bridal magazines so you have an idea of what type dress you want. This preliminary homework will keep you from having to spend the entire day in the store. You will already have an idea of your likes and dislikes. You will know the dresses that you absolutely would not wear even if they were free. Look at the models to see which dresses seem to fit into your wedding theme. If your theme is a garden wedding, a very sophisticated wedding dress might look at of place.
It is probably not a bad idea for you to think about which dress is age appropriate. Certainly no matter what the age, you can have what you want. It is your day and your choice. But a lot of time can be saved if you consider what looks good for someone your age. An older bride probably would not like a very elaborately laced bouffant style dress. She would like something a little more sophisticated.
Once you have an idea of what you are looking for, it's time to visit David's Bridal Gowns. One word of advice is don't go by yourself. Take your mother and a sister if you have one. If you don't have sisters, take a few bridesmaids. These extra people will help you withstand a big sales pitch. You don't have to buy the first dress you see.
If there is an available salesperson, grab her for help. You're going to need it. Unless you have unlimited finances, ask if there is a sales rack. There's no shame in trying to find a bargain. If nothing on the sales rack interests you, tell the sales lady what type of dress you are looking for and your target price. She will pull several dresses and take them into your dressing room. She will also help you into the dress because most bridal gowns are difficult to close in the back and may have intricate designs.
After putting on the dress, go out into the store so that everyone you brought with you can see how you look. Even if you think the dress is a no, let everyone see you. Your family and friends can help you see what works and doesn't work. Finish trying on the dresses that the sales person picked out for you. If you don't like any of them, your sales lady will choose more.
You should also consider looking around David's Bridal Gowns by yourself. You never know, the perfect dress may jump right out and find you. Even if you stay for hours, if you don't find THE dress, you don't owe the store anything. Say thanks and leave, but take with you all the information you have learned. If your salesperson has been helpful, be sure to ask for their card. By this time you will have a great idea what works and doesn't. Finding the right dress is so important to a bride. Remember the hunt is part of the fun.
